Congratulations David Bottom!

David Bottom was presented a certificate of appreciation this past Sunday at the 10:30 service for years of faithful service in leadership of Central’s brass ensemble.  We have all been blessed beyond measure by the many solos he has performed for special music, as well as his dedicated commitment as leader of the brass ensemble.  Thank you David!  Well done, good and faithful servant.

We’re excited to invite Central’s children entering kindergarten – entering 6th grade, to Vacation Bible School.  VBS is coming June 17-20, Monday – Thursday mornings from 9am – 12noon. Our theme this year is Hero Hotline, where everyone is a hero working to follow our Bible verse from Romans 14:19, “So let’s strive for the things that bring peace and the things that build each other up.”

Registration forms are available NOW and the deadline to register is May 20. There are paper forms available at church in the Friendship Center and in the Great Hall.

Online forms are available at: https://cccdisciples.shelbynextchms.com/external/form/63005240-a463-4507-9e6b-2df5329835d3

Both paper and electronic forms are accessible from our website, on the Youth Ministries page (under “Youth News and Events” section). You may also Text VBS2024 to 217-212-2173.

Reach out to Pastor Vicky with any questions. We hope your children and grandchildren will join us for a fun-filled week of learning more about God’s love.

VBS 2024 Volunteers Needed

main image

VBS is coming to Central the week of June 17-20. It takes many adults and youth helpers to prepare and participate in making VBS a fun-filled week of learning Bible stories, creating crafts, playing games, and eating snacks.

Volunteers help by shepherding small groups as they move from station to station, gathering supplies and preparing crafts, decorating, and assisting station leaders. Do you have some time to share? We would love your help.

There will be a VBS Orientation meeting for all helpers on Wednesday, June 5, from

6-7pm. Everyone who works with our children must be Safe Church trained, which we provide (and the training is renewed every 3 years). If you want to volunteer or have some questions, please contact Pastor Vicky.
