Northeast Pantry Donations - February 2025
The Shopping Cart that you see in the Connection Café is a reminder to us that Macon County has one of the 10 highest rates of food insecurity in Illinois. The need is great in our community to help those who may not be able to feed their families or themselves. These families and individuals all have something in common; they may be hungry.
Central Christian Church continues to support the shopping cart with generous donations each month. On January 12, 2025, 125 pounds of nonperishable food items were delivered to Northeast Community Food Pantry. Let’s join together and support Northeast on February 2, 2025. Here are some suggestions: canned and pouches of chicken and tuna, soup, canned chili, canned fruit and vegetables, rice, canned spaghetti sauce, peanut butter, broth, cereal, elbow and spaghetti pasta, mac and cheese, and applesauce. Please, be sure to check the expiration date. It is also a good idea not to donate items in glass packaging. Please place your food donations in the shopping cart in the Connection Café. Let’s fill the cart!
